Who we are looking for

You have:

  • diploma or bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering
  • minimum 5 years' experience launching products into mass production.
  • experience in industries such as medical and assistive devices, health, wellness and safety related consumer goods preferred.
  • experience guiding manufacturing projects from initial sketches through prototyping to high quality finished products.
  • experience with and knowledge of a wide range of manufacturing processes including injection molding, CNC machining, die casting and electronics.
  • understanding of manufacturing drawings and GD&T sufficient to guide the manufacturing and quality control process efficiently and effectively.
  • ability to effectively utilize a variety of project and production management tools, and the results to show it.
  • interest in and ability to successfully work directly with external customers and suppliers.
  • meticulous attention to detail.
  • mastery of Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel etc.).
  • previous experience in an ISO9001 and/or ISO13485 quality management environment.

As Manufacturing Project Engineer reporting to the Vice President Supply Chain, you will be responsible for production timelines, product quality planning and issues resolution. Specifically, you will:

  • apply manufacturing process knowledge (DFM), customer intake tools (RFQ, Quotes) and product launch tools (FMEA, PPAP, IQ/OQ/PQ) to launch quality, cost-effective new products for clients.
  • ensure an excellent customer experience through rigorous project management.
  • collaborate with the Inertia team and vendors to ensure a seamless customer experience and outstanding results.
  • create and maintain bill of materials (BOM) throughout product launch.
  • create and maintain engineering change and build issue list.
  • provide design for manufacturing (DFM) consultation to internal design team.
  • research new manufacturing processes and materials.
  • maintain and help grow a strong international vendor/supply network.
  • maintain product and process information within our various business systems.
  • manage qualification and receipt of product.
  • develop and encourage strong peer relationships across different functions, teams and geographies.
  • use Inertia’s BPMS (Business and Product Management System) to guide daily work.
  • identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to help ensure a great customer and team experience.
  • actively support and promote workplace health, safety and wellness.
  • perform other relevant duties as assigned.

Employment Type: Full Time

Primary Work Location: In office or remote with ability to visit the Toronto, Ontario office as needed.

Must be legally permitted to work in Canada. International travel may be required.

Annual Salary: $78K - $110K, commensurate with knowledge, skills, experience, and local market conditions.
